Jacob loves to dance

Jacob is growing up so very fast. He is just too cute. Here is a quick update on what he is doing/what he likes to do/what he wishes he could do. =)

  • He is 18lbs 4oz (although I think the Dr's scale is off a bit and I think he weighs more, but he has gained 2lbs in 3 months!)
  • When we get back from Denver he is going off of formula (yippy! cheaper milk!!!)
  • We are going to Denver Jan 15-19 (me, Jacob and Micah. Adam is staying home, someone has to pay the bills)
  • He loves to dance
  • He is pulling up on everything and cruises a ton
  • He can stand on his own, but he doesn't think he can so it rarely happens
  • When he is standing holding onto something, he lets go and sits down with so much control and so very slow
  • He eats anything and everything, including lima beans
  • His front tooth is finally coming in. Yesterday it was just the tip and today the entire thing has broken through. Now we just wait for it to drop down and hopefully for the other one to come through
  • He loves watching Handy Manny and if he is fussing and I put it on as soon as he hears the music he stops and dances
  • If I count to 8 in Spanish he starts to dance (on every episode of Handy Manny he counts in Spanish and then sings a song)
  • When he growls if you growl back he will growl back at you and so forth and so on
  • He love Garnet and Garnet tolerates him. Jacob will play with his tags or hold onto his hair and stand and sometimes tries to crawl on Garnet
  • He is really good about taking morning naps. He will be playing and not even acting tired, but we go in his room and I give him his blanket and paci and put him in his bed and he goes right to sleep
  • He is starting to take his paci finally to go to sleep. Before he wouldn't suck his thumb or take the paci or anything so he had nothing to soothe him, which was really a pain if we woke up in the middle of the night. Now he takes his paci and it is wonderful. I can break him of that later; I'm just happy that it cuts down on the screaming time before his afternoon nap
  • Angela Carson who has been watching him since I have gone back to work, isn't going to be able to watch him anymore come the end of Jan or Feb (she is pregnant with their fourth and they are moving as their house lease is up). Jacob is going to miss them a ton and Adam and I are getting creative as to what to do with him while I work 2 days a week.
  • We are working with his calves trying to loosen them up. He is more tight in his left leg than the right. He has Hypertonia. Basically we stretch and massage him and hope that that fixes it and he doesn't have to have braces when he walks.

That is all that I can think of for now. He is down for his nap so I should be productive now while I can!
