Denver: Having Lunch & Playing in the Snow

We got to eat at this cute little burger place called Runway Grill that was on a runway!
My little man

Such a ham

The planes taking off

Cute family (my "little" brother Micah, brother-in-law Thomas, sister Juli and me and Jacob)

Watching the planes

Jacob playing in snow (what was left of it) for the first time

Micah and I had never experienced snow. We enjoyed playing in that for the first time together.

Micah making a snowball without gloves (he regretted that)

He regretted this too

I said don't do that!

Hit by my very first snowball

Getting ready to fall in the snow

So cold!

And wet!

Getting hit again by a snowball

Hit yet again

This is getting old

Denver: My Gym

We visited the gym a couple of times while we were in Denver. Jacob had a blast playing and even got to attend a class. He loved it!

Aquarium in Denver

To continue our Denver story, we pick up on our first day there . . .

Once Little Man was awake from his afternoon nap, we headed to the aquarium. It was so much fun. I had been to a similar one in Atlanta, but it was so different having Jacob with us and trying to get him to understand and see all of the fish. He seemed to really enjoy it. He has learned how to point and man did he point at all the fish.

After walking through the entire aquarium, we ate dinner at a restaurant there. That was fun. We got to watch the fish and sharks as we ate seafood! We then headed home (we stopped to pick up some snow in the parking lot on our way back to the car. We Floridians can't miss an opportunity to play with snow!), put Jacob to bed and then played Rock Band, but that story and pictures to come later...Enjoy the pictures of the aquarium!

Our Trip Out to Denver & Playing in the Snow

We had a great time in Denver. Jacob did pretty good on the flight, but I don't think I'll fly with a 13-month-old again. Our flight was delayed and all he wanted to do is to crawl around the airport and all Mommy wanted him to do is to sit in his stroller. When we finally got on the plane, Jacob went to sleep pretty fast, but then he woke up screaming, went back to sleep, then woke up screaming and stay awake for the last hour of the flight.

Juli and Thomas were so excited to see us. We went back to their house and went straight to bed. Thankfully, Jacob slept in in the morning and didn't get up until 9am Denver time (11am our time)! That first day we didn't do much. We just hung around their house and rested. When Juli and Thomas came home after work (mid-afternoon), Micah and Thomas played in the snow and we waited for Jacob to wake up....Enjoy the pictures of our trip to Denver and playing in the snow.

Adam says that it is too hard sometimes for old computers to pull up the picture slide show, so I just put them on Facebook instead; click the link below to see MORE pictures than I posted here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=96291&l=13237&id=533066390

No Denver Pictures Yet...

... 'casue I choose the Wii over putting up pictures. Adam bought us a Wii and Wii Fit last weekend while I was gone and I'm having a blast playing it. I was huffin' and puffin' after hoola hooping and now I'm working on the soccer game (on the Wii Fit) and have improved my score from 11 points to over 100. Back to the game. I have to figure out a way to beat Adam's 300+ points! Pictures hopefully tomorrow...

Back from Denver

We are back from Denver! Jacob and I had a blast (and I have the 1100 pictures to prove it!). I have lots of stories and pictures to share and will get them up as soon as possible.

We are glad to be home, but are missing Thomas and Juli already. =(

Pun-tastic!

Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other and finally they got married and had a little sweet potato which they called Yam.

Of course they wanted the best for Yam.

When it was time they told her about the facts of life.

They warned her about going out and getting half-baked so she wouldn’t get accidentally mashed and get a bad name for herself like “Hot Potato” and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots.

But on the other hand, she shouldn’t stay home and become a Couch Potato either.

She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins.

When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland and the greasy guys from France called French Fries. When she went out west, they told her to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn’t get scalloped.

Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P. U. (that’s Potato University) so that when she graduated she’d really be in the Chips.

But in spite of all they did for her, one-day Tam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw???

Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset!

They told Yam she couldn’t possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he’s just a Commontater.

Jacob loves to dance

Jacob is growing up so very fast. He is just too cute. Here is a quick update on what he is doing/what he likes to do/what he wishes he could do. =)

  • He is 18lbs 4oz (although I think the Dr's scale is off a bit and I think he weighs more, but he has gained 2lbs in 3 months!)
  • When we get back from Denver he is going off of formula (yippy! cheaper milk!!!)
  • We are going to Denver Jan 15-19 (me, Jacob and Micah. Adam is staying home, someone has to pay the bills)
  • He loves to dance
  • He is pulling up on everything and cruises a ton
  • He can stand on his own, but he doesn't think he can so it rarely happens
  • When he is standing holding onto something, he lets go and sits down with so much control and so very slow
  • He eats anything and everything, including lima beans
  • His front tooth is finally coming in. Yesterday it was just the tip and today the entire thing has broken through. Now we just wait for it to drop down and hopefully for the other one to come through
  • He loves watching Handy Manny and if he is fussing and I put it on as soon as he hears the music he stops and dances
  • If I count to 8 in Spanish he starts to dance (on every episode of Handy Manny he counts in Spanish and then sings a song)
  • When he growls if you growl back he will growl back at you and so forth and so on
  • He love Garnet and Garnet tolerates him. Jacob will play with his tags or hold onto his hair and stand and sometimes tries to crawl on Garnet
  • He is really good about taking morning naps. He will be playing and not even acting tired, but we go in his room and I give him his blanket and paci and put him in his bed and he goes right to sleep
  • He is starting to take his paci finally to go to sleep. Before he wouldn't suck his thumb or take the paci or anything so he had nothing to soothe him, which was really a pain if we woke up in the middle of the night. Now he takes his paci and it is wonderful. I can break him of that later; I'm just happy that it cuts down on the screaming time before his afternoon nap
  • Angela Carson who has been watching him since I have gone back to work, isn't going to be able to watch him anymore come the end of Jan or Feb (she is pregnant with their fourth and they are moving as their house lease is up). Jacob is going to miss them a ton and Adam and I are getting creative as to what to do with him while I work 2 days a week.
  • We are working with his calves trying to loosen them up. He is more tight in his left leg than the right. He has Hypertonia. Basically we stretch and massage him and hope that that fixes it and he doesn't have to have braces when he walks.

That is all that I can think of for now. He is down for his nap so I should be productive now while I can!
